Lance without a tie

Posted by Lance Miller On October - 3 - 2009

 With or without a tie.

I was in Amsterdam Wednesday evening for dinner and drinks with a friend. We also discussed the purpose of a tie. Do you want to show respect to others who also wear a tie? Is it a norm? Do you find that a tie makes your outfit look more complete? Do you think a tie is just for the formal events? What do you think of the tie and do you find that we are entering a tieless era? An era in which dark slim-fit jeans, a made-to-measure shirt and jacket, Italian goodyear crafted shoes and a matching belt rules at the office? Is the tie-era finished? Will it come back?

Me on Wednesday with a sandwich from the HEMA in my right hand, but no tie! I especially put this shirt together with a two buttoned collar that is three collar sizes too small because then I wouldn’t wear a tie on it. A smaller collar size makes the collar look better around your neck when not buttoned.. That’s why I chose to have it three collar sizes too small. It is a button down to keep the collar in a good position, but the buttons are underneath the collar so you can’t see.

Man do I love Scott’s photography:

What do you think? Hot or not?

See you in the comments! :)
