Etro is playfulness, fantasy and surprise.

Posted by Lance Miller On December - 26 - 2009

Etro elegantly combines Italian creative style with Savile Row quality. It is an amazing brand with superb quality clothing of which each gentleman should have at least a pocket square with paisleys . Etro suits may look quite classical from a distance, don’t be fooled. The lining, felt and buttonholes are often very colorful and are usually recognized as Etro because of the great paisley designs.

Black Tie

Posted by Lance Miller On December - 19 - 2009

Black tie is a dress code that is also known as tuxedo, dinner jacket, and cravate noire. When the master of ceremony decides his guests should come in black tie, you will wear a tuxedo, French cuffed white tuxedo shirt (preferably with black buttons from the navel up), bow tie, suspenders (no belt), polished black shoes (varnish is optional), long black socks. A tuxedo vest, cummerbund and pocket square are optional. The self tie bow tie looks much better and will be appreciated by the connoisseurs. At the end of the night when you are lounging at the pool, you may untie the bow tie and hang it around your neck like Craig Daniel in the photo below.

Black tie is always after sundown and gentleman do not wear watches (use your cell phone if you really need to know the time). Your pockets should contain few items such as some paper money and perhaps a credit card. The ticket pocket of your tuxedo jacket is great for storing coins. You may offer the lady to carry some of her items in your pockets. Read the rest of this entry »

How to dress for interviews

Posted by Bobby Humphrey On December - 18 - 2009

There are some crucial aspects of one’s appearance during a job-interview. It’s important to present yourself flawlessly as a first impression and example of your capabilities and performances. Therefore, make sure you fully understand your outfit and leave nothing to coincidence. Maybe the most important aspect of the job-interview is self-reflection. Think about the kind of employee the company is looking for and tune your outfit to that expectation. Some companies will accept a smart casual look, but most companies prefer a professional look. It’s always better to play it safe with the professional look to make sure you are respected no matter who is on the other end of the table.

The Bodywarmer Jacket

Posted by Bobby Humphrey On December - 2 - 2009

Bodywarmer

It’s a great kind of jacket to wear when the sun is out in the winter, but should we wear it Smart Casual or with a suit? Suitsupply has some new bodywarmer jackets that are a 100% wool, so they’re pretty snug. I personally think it looks pretty weird to wear a bodywarmer jacket over your suit jacket, as the suit jacket will pop-out underneath your bodywarmer. You should only wear it over your woolsweater or pullover with a Smart Casual style. Check out the photos and answer the following question: Hot or Not?
