Made in Italy
If an Aston Martin DB9 is the car of all cars, a bespoke Brioni suit is the suit of all suits. If we are ever going to make a profit from this website, I would like to invest in a Brioni…. Their off-the-rack suits are approximately usd $5,000 at entry level. Bespoke Brioni suits range from usd $6,000 to up to $50,000. Donald Trump is a Brioni fan. Bobby is too….

Brioni has been around since 1945. Hero tailor Nazereno Fonticoli and his venturing partner Gaetano Savini named their brand after a resort on the coast of the Adriatic Sea. They opened a store in New York in 1954, pioneering their way into the American elite fashionistas and wealthy businessmen, celebrities and Mafioso.

According to International regulations, a suit that has been produced in Italy for at least 20% may carry the ‘Made in Italy’ label. Some of the popular suiting brands have some of their production in Italy for this reason, but their suits or not truly ‘Italian’. Brioni has a 4-year training programme for their tailors that hand-sew the suits. Their suits are approximately 80% hand-made, which is exceptional and makes the suit look amazingly natural.

Brioni used to dress James Bond, but Tom Ford took over those prestigious responsibilities for the last James Bond movie with Daniel Craig. They have exclusive fabrics like vicuña, and occasionally use genuine white gold stitching for a suit’s pinstripes. The urban myth I have heard from the Oger PAs is that the Brioni tailors must be able to create a suit blindfolded. Imagine..
I read in the Financial Times a few days ago that Brioni will be manufacturing t-shirts as well, as part of their marketing strategy to attract also younger customers.
