Vespa’s, hot or not?

Vespa, founded in 1946 has a long history of making scooters. They were and I think they still are epic.. The classical ones! Not the new series that look like downgraded space shuttles for commuters..

So what do you think? Are they HOT OR NOT?

Hype on the grey suit Dutch football coach Bert van Marwijk

We dutchmen are not only famous by our drugpolicy (not drug use ;-)), Heineken beer (yes, that’s Dutch), tulips and wooden shoes, but we are also famous for our great footballplay! (and players off course e.g. Cruijff, van Basten etc).

These days not only Holland, but half of South Africa colours orange, our national colour, hence the royal house of the Netherlands.

Our soccerplay is great, well okay, great enough to make it to the 2010 final of the FIFA World Championship! We thank Bert van Marwijk for his superb job with our boys. Bert van Marwijk isn’t just a great coach, he’s also a fine dressed gentleman, even during the games.

His costum made suit is specially designed for the entire staff of the Dutch football team by Piet Zoomers, a Dutch suitsupplier. At the moment there’s a big hype on this grey suit and Piet Zoomers is thinking about putting it on the market.

Josep Guardiola’s Style

Former professional soccer player Josep Guardiola who currently is FC Barcelona’s coach caught the worldwide attention of the media for winning the Champion League. He also caught my attention for his fine taste of suits. As I was having a few drinks with a buddy who works in a formal gentlemen’s clothing store, he told me that some of his customers asked for the ‘Pep’ Guardiola slim-fit tie. His style hasn’t gone unnoticed.

I think from the looks that his suits are bespoke. They are very nicely cut and fit him perfectly. The extra smaller pocket above the regular pocket on the right side of the jacket, I like very much.

Do you see the red text on the left bottom of the shirt. Is this a made-to-measure or bespoke tailored shirt with his nickname in red?

What do you think? Personally I typically wear a different color tie than the color of my suit. Guardiola on the other hand always wears a tie in the same color, in perhaps a different shade, as his suit. Are you with or against?

Shirt configurator? Yes finally you can also customize your own shirt. This amazing online tool was created by LCT, it stands for La Chemiserie Traditionnelle. For the non French speakers, you can stick to LCT :). I know a lot of websites where you can customize your t-shirt or sneakers. But finally the web also hits the men fashion industry.

How to configure? It’s very easy:

1. First you choose from 130 different kind of shirt materials (that’s A LOT!!!).

2. Then you pick your favorite collar. (My favorite ones are the “white” collars!)

3. The cuffs, ofcourse white again and the design I choose is the most extraordinary one with a curve.

4. To further customize the shirt, I will choose a stitching with some highlight color.

5. Finish it with a button of your own choice.

Now I like to order my new customized shirt. The last step seems not to be available in this nice app. If you really like the combination you have chosen, you can drop by the stores in the Netherlands ;).
