Never never never should you showoff your bare ankles. If you prefer to wear your pants in such a fashion that people can see your socks when standing up straight, then for sure when you will sit, will people see your socks. Get long ones to ensure that you are not showing off skin. Ofcourse, fashion is personally and if you don’t have to follow an etiquette you may get creative in choosing colored socks or deliberately showing off skin.
